The NEFRC, through a contract with the Florida Department of Health, manages the Healthcare Coalition program for 18 counties throughout North Florida. Through planning, training, equipping and exercising, the Healthcare Coalitions are building a stronger, regional healthcare system.

What is a Healthcare Coalition (HCC)?

The national Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) prepares the health care system to save lives through the development of regional health care coalitions. Healthcare Coalitions (HCC) are groups of health care and response organizations that collaborate to prepare for and respond to medical surge events. HCCs incentivize diverse and competitive health care organizations to work together for the community.

Florida Healthcare Coalitions

The NEFRC is contracted by the Florida Department of Health and receives HPP funding to establish and maintain three healthcare coalitions that serve 18 counties in north Florida. These HCCs work as a collaborative network of healthcare organizations and their respective public and private sector response partners to collectively plan, organize, equip, train and exercise to build capabilities related to regional healthcare system preparedness, response and recovery.
